Measurement of behavior of RF Chain (non-linearities, compression, etc.) using the 2-tone measurement. The goal of the work is the study and modification of the current measurement procedure and system for testing components to intermodulation products of the 3rd order IM3 (two-tone measurement method). After studying the basic principles of measuring the nonlinear parameters of RF two-ports and their effects on the RF chain, the student should then analyze the current IM3 test process at Rohde&Schwarz in Vimperk. After analyzing the influence of the properties of the measured components, etc. on the erroneous measurement, propose an improvement of the current measurement process. Then implement this system and compare its properties with the previous state.
► Impact of attenuation on Intermodulation tests, i.e.one or more components deviate from average values and have more attenuation on 5GHz what is the effect, given their position on the RF chain; ► Automatic Gain Control (AGC)/ Automatic Level Control (ALC) impact on IM3, given issues diverging from average; ► Research the test procedure and information - Test for customer and factory vs. a Test for repair, (the idea is to improve or add information on the factory test, and evaluate if more information is needed or if it is better to think on a second test used only for Repair). ► Research on how to improve the manual/invasive test at 5GHz, when we confront ourselves with boards that have components diverging from average it can get complicated to test them manually at 5GHz, how can we improve it?
